Description 2 Reviews The TWSBI Vac Mini fountain pen in Clear is a departure from the piston filler fountain pens found in the rest of the TWSBI lineup. The TWSBI Vac Mini fountain pen has a clear acrylic body, which makes checking the level of your ink a breeze, accented by a clear grip section and turning knob. The smooth writing steel nib, silver clip and trim accents make this pen a real workhorse! The Vac Mini fountain pen is slightly shorter than the Vac 700 fountain pen, and features a few design changes that you will love! Additional replacement TWSBI Vac Mini nib units are available in several nib sizes. Please make sure to choose the Vac Mini nibs, and not another model. This vacuum filler pen holds a LARGE amount of ink, and fills by unscrewing the end cap, pulling it out, and then the pen fills on the downstroke. Be sure to hold the pen in the ink for several seconds after pushing the end cap in, and for best results, you should do this twice. The TWSBI Vac Mini fountain pen fills with bottled ink only, and for best filling results, the TWSBI Vac 20A ink bottle is a wonderful option. TWSBI believes that it is important to allow the user to disassemble and reassemble the pen, in order to completely experience the traditional aspects of owning and using a fountain pen. The TWSBI pen packaging includes a wrench and silicone grease. ** Please note that these accessories are not intended to be used immediately, as they are better used for long-term care and maintenance. In addition, please use extra care if you choose to disassemble the pen, as breakage or cracking could occur if done incorrectly. We offer Free Shipping on all orders over $69 for US customers! 2 Reviews Hide Reviews Show Reviews 5 Requiem Posted by NontradStudent on Sep 22nd 2026 I got one of these with a broad nib to use a fluorescent ink, since I don't always have a need to regularly make an invisible ownership mark that is only visible under black light. The ink cutoff seals the reservoir,, allowing the ink to remain usable for months, It also keeps the ink in the pen if the surrounding air pressure drops, making it useful when flying. Sadly, it appears that the Vac Mini has been discontinued. The Vac 700R is still available, and while it has the ink control valve and the smooth writing characteristics of the Vac Mini it does not have the threads that allow this pen to post securely and it is bulkier. The pen market is diminished by the imminent loss of this remarkable instrument. 5 TWSBI Vac Mini (Clear -- Broad Nib) Posted by Robert Grizzard on Aug 31st 2026 I got this pen with the broad nib for use with Noodler's fluorescent "Blue Ghost" ink. Under ultraviolet illumination, the ink glows with a cold blue-white light. The ink works well for labeling belongings with an invisible indelible property mark, but since it is not something I would have a need to use frequently I wanted to use it in a pen that has the ability to seal the reservoir and keep the ink from drying out. This pen meets that requirement. Its capacity is also a mark in its favor, as is the vacuum filling system that allows for both of these capabilities. And its compact size means it is not in the way when it is sitting idle waiting for the next time I need to apply a property marking. The body is clear, to the point that the Blue Ghost ink cannot be seen if the pen is completely filled. I opted to get the TWSBI Vac 20A accessory bottle to allow for this completely full state. It is not necessary to use Blue Ghost in the pen or the bottle, as a more normal ink will work equally as well. It posts by screwing the cap onto the body, which makes for a comfortable writing experience.
