It is a good ink, which is why I got more than one. It has a greenish undertone that its stablemate, Khaki Black, doesn't have; thus, it has a richness and depth that makes it pleasant to write with. Plus it is an iron gall formulation, meaning it will get darker as it dries and is well behaved with regard to show-through and bleedthrough. You don't have to use it for crossword puzzles, but it does work well for that.
