Shipping Policy

SHIPPING

We ship our packages to you through the United States Postal Service (USPS). We use First Class Mail and Priority Mail. All shipping rates are automatically calculated upon checkout. Depending on your location, most US domestic packages should arrive to you in 2-5 business days from date of shipment. We do our best to process all orders within 24 hours of order being placed and we ship six days a week! Free Priority Mail Shipping is an option for all orders over $59 for US customers. Please note, you must select the free shipping option at checkout, it is not automatic.

All of our packages are shipped with tracking information. Once the shipping label is printed, our system automatically sends an email to you with that tracking information. Your account is also automatically updated with the tracking number and date it was shipped. Please understand that once the package leaves our hands, we cannot control the timing or the route that your package experiences. 
FYI, at Cardinal Pens and Paper, we take shipping seriously, so we cover the cost for insurance on all US packages over $250, and ALL US packages over $500 are shipped with a signature required, which we also pay for, to ensure that these arrive safely.

We often get asked whether we ship outside the US. The answer is Yes! Shipping rates are automatically calculated upon checkout based on address. Please understand that shipping internationally is not always an exact science, so feel free to reach out to us to see if we can get your package into a smaller box which might cost less to ship. If your package ends up costing significantly LESS to ship than you were charged, we DO refund back excess shipping fees.

FYI, International First Class Shipping takes longer than other international shipping options. Generally a First Class package will arrive in 1-2 weeks, but it can often take 4-6 weeks to arrive, and sometimes even up to 8 weeks, depending on how long it takes to travel to your country, and also how long it is held in customs. The tracking availability for 1st class shipping is limited. We ask that you be patient, and check with your customs office, or check the United States Postal Service website for updates. 
Please note that we are not responsible for, and have NO control over any customs fees or tariffs that you may have to pay for incoming international packages. If you choose to not pick up your package due to tariffs or customs duties and the package is returned to us, we will not refund any shipping charges that you paid. 

For many countries, there is little to no tracking once the package leaves US Customs. That is the trade-off for the lower price. If you wish to receive your order more quickly, please contact us to upgrade shipping to Priority or Express. After several weeks (6-7 weeks from date of shipping) if you feel that your package has been lost, please contact us. We cannot process a shipping insurance claim until after 60 days has passed, to allow for transit time and customs processing.
